“No, I just love to practice, I don’t want to teach!”

That’s been my predictable response for years whenever people asked if I teach yoga. I’ve been in denial.

I love yoga. I’ve practiced daily for years. It has been so good for not only my body but my mind: it has improved my thinking, my discipline, my mood . . . I am definitely a more balanced and content person because of yoga.

Even as I’ve insisted I don’t want to teach it, I’ve been sharing it with people love for years.

I started bringing the mental aspects of yoga into my coaching and saw immediate results. People LOVE it.

Turns out, as a tool for personal development, the ancient wisdom of yoga is surprisingly aligned with modern, business coaching practices.

What I believe yoga adds is the grounding connection to our humanity, a connection that is deeply needed in today’s corporate world. Especially for tech professionals, who are all being pushed to adopt AI as fast as possible!

To me, yoga is the practice of experiencing being human. Of being aware of being a human.

It is taking time each day to observe what it’s actually like:

To have a body that senses,

and feels.

And a mind that chatters,

and makes stuff up.

The results of this awareness, combined with the physical effort, are surprisingly profound, and I’m ready to share this practice more broadly in my community, so . . .

I am excited to announce that I’ve started my Yoga Teacher Training and will be certified in September!

I don’t have a firm plan outlined beyond certification.

  • I still don’t see myself teaching in yoga studios.

  • I will definitely continue 1:1 coaching for professionals as my primary work.

  • I may introduce a more integrated yoga offering into my life coaching packages for clients who are interested.

  • I am actively discussing bringing a weekly class to a business or other organization in my local community.

I’m loving what I’m learning, and I’m confident whatever comes next is going to be so fun, and so rewarding because it’s aligned with my values and my long-term vision.
