Frequently Asked Questions

About Coaching

What is coaching, and how is it different from therapy?

Coaching is a forward-focused partnership. We start from where you are and work toward where you want to go—clarifying values, identifying blockers, and building the mindset, strategy, and habits to get there.

Therapy focuses on healing the past: processing trauma, treating mental health conditions, and understanding how your history shapes you.

Both are valuable, and they're not mutually exclusive. Coaching can be a great complement to therapy, but is not a substitute.

What do you mean by transformational life coaching?

My coaching focuses on inner growth and alignment. I help people become the next best version of themselves—a truer, more authentic and intentional version—and create the life and lifestyle they’ve been wanting.

People look for coaching during significant transitions—career jumps, relationship changes, identity crises. These shifts naturally challenge us, cause disruption, and certainly change things. With transformational coaching, we leverage the transition as a catalyst for deep personal growth so the changes are intentional, deliberate, calculated.

We still work on goals—that’s a key component of coaching. We refine vision, set milestones, and build accountability systems. But we dive deeper. We examine stories and assumptions, identify limiting beliefs and blind spots, and exploring new ways of thinking—which lead to more aligned behaviors and better outcomes.

Who is a good candidate for coaching?

Someone who is genuinely open to being challenged, willing to examine their own patterns, and ready to take action on what they discover.

Do you work with people outside of tech?

Yes!

While my professional background is in tech, the core of what I do—helping people get clarity, trust themselves, and set and achieve goals—applies across industries and roles. If something resonates, reach out!

How long does coaching usually last?

It depends.

Some clients come with a specific goal or transition and work with me for six months. Others stay in it for longer—using coaching as an ongoing sounding board and growth practice as their career and life evolve.

What certifications do you hold?

I’m a Certified Professional Coach through the International Association of Recovery Coaches, hold a degree in Marriage, Family and Human Development from BYU, and obtained the Women in LeadershipCertificate from The University of Utah David Eccles School of Business.

Do you ever meet in person?

Sometimes!

I typically hold sessions via face-to-face Zoom calls, but if you’re in Salt Lake or Utah County, we may be able to arrange in-person meetings if it makes sense. Limited travel outside of Utah is also available. Let’s discuss.

How can we connect?

Contact me and I'll get back to you through email. Or, if you're ready to talk, book a Coaching Consultation, and we'll figure it out together!
