Intentions to shine a light on gender equity questions

I intend to share more of the details around leaving the leadership role at my last company; I am just being thoughtful about how I present them because the company is filled with people I respect and care about, including those directly involved.

I asked my 14-year-old son to snap a picture of the beautiful sunset.

However, the cause is important enough to me that I wanted to keep my voice, so I refused the money they offered me to sign a Non-Disclosure Agreement that would have prevented me from saying anything at all.

I am revisiting out loud the conversation I opened internally. I invite genuine, honest, and kind-spirited discussion, keeping in mind that the people involved are representatives of the company, and my objections are cultural, not personal.

As I share, please know it is with the intent of seeking understanding between the two perspectives that landed us on different sides of specific issues, and shining a light on some of the gray areas and unanswered questions around gender equity—at work and at home.
